GHTunes Showcase: GHDevBrett talks about his GHTunes tracks
* Name & job here at Neversoft:
GHDevBretDubin and I am a Quality Assurance Tester.
* What is your song's title and does it mean anything?
- "Tip Tow" - The lead guitar intro sounded sort of "stealthy" and reminded me of a person tip toeing.
- "Extroverted" - No real meaning, the song is just heavy and in your face.
- "Plead the 6th" - Again, no real meaning...the song's time signature is in 6/8 and thought it was a clever title.
- "Unwelcome" - No meaning,...a random Metal song title with matching Album Art.
- "Glowstick Party" - I just thought the title was funny and appropriate for the song's genre.
Overall, I guess I just found it difficult to come up with meaningful song titles for instrumental songs. For me, a song's title would be derived from the lyrics, but with no vocals, I'd just end up naming it along the lines of what the song sounds like and/or reminds me of.
* How long did it take you to create your GHTunes track?
Each song took me roughly 8-10 hours.
* Why is GHTunes such a unique feature in the game to you?
I think that GHTunes/GHStudio is so unique because there is really nothing else quite like it. It allows the players to create music, then play it and share it with anyone in such a way that has never really been done before...on a gaming console! No "ProTools" experience necessary!
* What is your favorite songs to play in GH?
Black Magic Woman - Santana [Guitar Hero 3]
Dyer's Eve - Metallica (on drums Expert+)[Guitar Hero - Metallica]
Done with Everything, Die for Nothing - Children of Bodom (on drums Expert+)[Guitar Hero 5]
* What is your favorite type of music to play/listen to?
I have a rather broad range of music that I like to play and listen to....as long as its not Country or Rap, I'll probably like it.
* How many tracks have you created for GHTunes?
Not quite sure..about 15 or 20.
* Are you in a band? What's your bands name? What kind of music do they play? (your Guitar Hero band doesn't count!)
I don't play in a band at the moment. But over the years I have played in numerous bands with genres ranging from Ska to Metal to Alternative/Rock covers of TV shows and commercial theme songs.
* What GH instrument/difficulty are you best at?
Drums / Expert+
