      What is an avatar?

An avatar is a small picture that you can upload to the Guitar Hero® Community website, and link with your account.  This avatar will be attached to all of your forum posts, and it will also be displayed within your profile.  Your avatar basically becomes your representation here on the Guitar Hero® Community.

What kind of images can I upload and use as my avatar?

Feel free to upload any image that represents you as a Guitar Hero® Rocker, or any image that you feel should be your face here on the Guitar Hero® Community.  Keep in mind that people of all ages view and use the community.guitarhero.com website, and any images that are inappropriate (drug-related, pornographic, overall violent, etc.) will be blocked, and your avatar will revert back to the generic Guitar Hero® avatar you start out with.  For more information on content that will not be allowed on the website, please read our Terms of Service (which you agreed to when registering for the site).

Each time you upload an avatar to the website, it gets sent to a database, which the Guitar Hero® Community Management Team goes through and moderates.  Those avatars flagged as inappropriate are blocked, and are not allowed on the site.  The next time you go to upload an avatar; you will see that you have 1 strike against your profile name.  3 strikes and you’re out (three inappropriate avatars and you lose your ability to upload an avatar).
